Interview: Interview with Matt Robinson (Slade) |
Me and My Shadow…
TW: Things that you like about your character’s personality are:
Matt. – His enigmatic and mysterious persona. It is very intriguing and exudes power. He has a real mental and physical strength, and a secretive past.
TW: Things you dislike about your character’s personality are:
Matt. – His constant desire for power and control. He’s a bit of a bad boy towards his women.
TW: Things you like about your character’s costume are:
Matt. – I love his boots and cowboy pants. His cut off denim jacket rocks too!
TW: Things you dislike about your character’s costume are:
Matt. – His big red leather jacket is more 1980’s, rather than Brad Pitt in “Fight Club”.
TW: You relate/do not relate to your character because…
Matt. – I relate. There is a real inner strength and huge self confidence. He doesn’t suffer fools gladly and is totally focussed.
TW: What do you think you have brought to your character to give her more depth/reality?
Matt. – A focus, and the possibility to be both strong and vulnerable at the same time. This inner complexity makes him more flawed, interesting and ultimately, more real.
TW: What has your character taught you?
Matt. – That there is a lot of strength in staying quiet and mysterious – Slade only speaks when really necessary. He doesn’t waste any time on idle chit chat, and every word he says carries weight. Less if more for Slade.
