Principal photography on Series 2 of the Tribe started on 9th August 1999 at Cloud 9¹s production centre in New Zealand.
Although pre-production has been under way for several months now, the cast arrived to get settled in last week and the preparation involved a week of rehearsals, trying on costumes, reading scripts, getting new make-up, their hair styles,being introduced to their tutors, chaperones, houseparents and overall, getting settled in.
Production of series 2 of the Tribe (52 x half-hour episodes) runs for six months and will continue until February 2000.
Post-production of series 2 (editing episodes and then adding music, sound effects and special effects to the show) will occur while the series is in production and end in April 2000.
The writing team are currently still writing scripts for the second series and are now up to about episode 20 – with another 32 episodes and scripts to go! There will be an exclusive REPORT FROM PRODUCTION OF SERIES 2 on the main website with information on what has happened each week – ranging from scenes being shot, sneak previews of storylines in series 2, behind the scenes information on the stages in making the series, funny incidents, and even weather conditions – so Tribe fans everywhere can be kept update with what is happening on the production (and post-production) of series
